Saddle Creek Ranch offers horseback riding with a difference,

riding western style on well trained, obedient and calm trail horses, with various rides in to the bushveld and mountain foothills. All the rides are accompanied by the owners and trained staff.

For the beginner the emphasis is on a safe, relaxed and enjoyable ride on horses that will not “run away” with you.
The experienced rider can choose a more “spirited horse”

for a lively, exhilarating ride.

We are aware of clients past bad experiences with horses that are difficult to control and for that reason we are careful to “match”

rider and horse, taking into account their past riding experience.

Before leaving all the inexperienced riders will have the basic horse commands explained to them and trail guide/staff member

will be close to them throughout the ride

Horseback Trail Ride Times :

• Trail durations are approximate.
• Riders are advised to wear suitable clothing; jeans, takkies or boots
• Hats and suntan cream are essential in summer
• Payment is to be made before the ride
• Riding helmets are available on request
• Please arrive 30 minutes before the ride time.

Saturday/Sunday times: 9.00am 11.00am and 2.00pm.

Weekdays: 9. 30am & 2.30pm. Booking essential

• 1 hour Farm and Bush trail - R250pp
• 1,5 hours trail ride R300 - Includes photos
• Champagne Picnic Ride 2,5 hours  - R900(For 2) - Includes photos 
• The above costs are for a group (2 or more riders) Single rider supplement R100

Longer trail rides can be arranged

Riding for Kids

Young children can join a ride, and if necessary the horse will be led by a staff member to ensure their safety (R50. supplement) Children’s escorted pony ride of approx.25 minutes through the farm…….. R100.

Children’s birthday pony parties can be arranged. Please phone for details.
Kids Fun Days are held on Saturdays from 08.30am to 4.00pm. Leave them for the day to enjoy a trail ride, farm cross country course, jumping practice, saddling up, grooming and general horse care. Lots of fun with lunch included. Cost R300.

From Sandton, Randburg and Pretoria. Approx 45/60 mins.

Turn onto the N14 Pretoria—Krugersdorp highway and go towards Krugersdorp.

Pass Lanseria off ramp.

Pass Randburg off ramp and travel 8km. To next intersection with robots (Pinehaven Sasol garage)

Turn right. Go 8 km to T-Junction (Oaktree Zenex garage)

Turn right. ***

Go 20 km to Hekpoort T-Junction.

Turn right towards Hartbeespoort.

Go 2 km and turn left onto sand road, Sign to Hartebeesfontein.

Go 2,5 km to our gate on left.

FROM ROODEPOORT. Approx. 45 mins.

Hendrik Potgeiter  past  Clearwater Mall go 12 km. to next intersection with N14 Pine haven  Sasol.

Go straight over and go for another 8 km to T-Junction Oaktree Zenex. Turn right and follow above directions.***

FROM MAGALIESBURG. Approx. 20 mins.

Leave town on the R24 towards Rustenburg, go 3 km. and turn right at Lovers Rock to Hekpoort.

Go 8 km to T junction (R563) turn left, go 3 km.to T junction (R560) turn right towards Hartbeespoort.

Go 2  km. turn left on to sand road to Hartebeesfontein.

Go 2,5 km. to our gate on left.

FROM HARTBEESPOORT. Approx.20/25 mins. DAM WALL SIDE  Mt. Amanzi  etc.

From 4 way stop next to Chamelion Village (Engen garage and Wimpy) follow  R560 to Magaliesburg. You will pass the dam on your left. Proceed

for about 6 kms.

Pass through Skeerpoort, go 15 kms and take sand road right to Hartebeesfontein, you will see one of our signs” HORSE TRAIL RIDES.

Go 2,5 kms to our farm on the left

Pass Pecanwood  (the dam will be on your right) go 6km. to T Junction turn left onto R560 and proceed through Skeerpoort and follow the above
